Piano Duet Ensemble

Rachel, Tommy and Sam have been preparing the last few months for a duet ensemble at UNVL.  Today they performed for the audience and judges.
Here they are before the performance.

We were all there to support them.

Tommy did a finger sliding thing during his song.  It sounded great!

Rachel and Jackson Downey also played a duet.

They sounded AMAZING!

I think the kids are really glad that is over with!  But it was a great experience for them and they did a great job!

Tommy made the LVDS basketball team!

After two different try-outs, Tommy found out today that he made the Las Vegas Day School 5th-6th grade basketball team!
He was sooo excited when he saw his name posted this morning!
While he was still at school, Rachel made a candy poster for him.

Rachel's Home!

Rachel was invited to go to a "Birthday Party" at Knotts Berry Farm last weekend.  It was for her friend Carli.  Also invited were her friends Suzanne, Summer and Bethany.  They left Thursday morning and didn't get back until Saturday night.  It's funny how much we all missed Rachel for those few days!  It was cute to hear the kids say "I miss Rachel" during those few days.  Mark even said it a time or two.
When Mark got the call from Rachel Saturday night, telling him that they were home and to come pick her up at Carli's, the younger kids and I decided to make a welcome home sign REALLY FAST!!

 Then they waited patiently by the door...

 Rachel brought home souvenirs for her little brothers and sisters...

Rachel had such a great time and we are all happy that she is home!!!

And I don't have pictures of Megan and Jessica.....I had to order them on-line by a certain date and I missed the deadline....Bummer, they sure were cute.  I will see if I can somehow order them anyway.....I will post them later if I end up getting them!

Halloween day

No trick-or-treating....Halloween was on Sunday this year, but we had a great day at church and enjoyed the day together at home.  We ate some yummy, oh so yummy, Pumpkin pancakes with Apple Cider Syrup for breakfast...  

I'm not much of a pancake eater, but I had to eat a plate of these....they were soooo good!  Everyone loved them!

 Rach was in charge of cooking them.  She did a fine job!  :)

 And then for dinner, we had stew in a pumpkin.  Everyone was a little apprehensive to try it, but the presentation was fun,

and it got gobbled up!

Happy Halloween 2010!  Can't believe it's already November!!!
