Momma Robot
The other day I left Rachel home babysitting the kids. My instructions when I left were, no T.V., computer games, or video games. I told them to be creative and have fun. A little over 2 hours later, I came home and found out that my kids do have imagination and creativity when they are restricted from electronics....Meet Momma Robot...
They said it was their Momma while I was away. Jessica was even calling it "Momma." Hopefully it was just the familiarity of the robe and tennis shoes and not any resemblance to me! :)

Boxes, material, paint, broom sticks, yarn, my paper towel holder, etc were all used to construct this creative little creature. I think they had a great time but we sure had a huge mess to clean up from their little craft project!

(at least that's what they called it)

3rd Annual "Lemonade" stand
For the last few years the kids have begged to do a lemonade stand to make money. Here's the shot of last years lemonade stand. Yes , it was HOT outside!

I was wondering if the kids would ask about doing another one this year and yesterday it happened. So we called the Fifes and they were in! We were going to try something new this year. Instead of going out in front of houses, the kids were going to try selling their goodies at the park. We were sure there would be a lot of hungry and thirsty kids playing there!
So, Rach and Suz made the big sign...
the boys made another sign...
Megan watched...
and Jessica made her own little sign and decorated herself with markers...
Then we went to the park, set up, and waited and waited for someone to buy something!
It was a long wait and the Fifes weren't there yet so just when the kids were ready to give up....here came our first (and only) customer! She bought a cookie and a sprite!
Rachel, Megan and Sam decided to cool off while we waited for the Fifes...
Tommy didn't want to get wet or have any fun until Jackson was there so he just kept his shirt on and waited...
Jessica managed the sales while also enjoying the candy!
Finally the Fifes arrived and contributed to our "Summer Sale" table. Now they were officially in business!!
But most of the time the table looked like this, with no workers....
Because the workers were busy being kids and doing this....

Good thing we brought plenty of snacks to the park!!
and enough candy for Jessica...
Well, we only had one sale but we sure had a ton of fun! And that's what it's all about, right??

Last day of Truman Reunion
Happy Fourth of July!!!
Since it's only a week late, I thought I would finish my record of the Truman Family Reunion. It was a week ago today that we woke up on the fourth of July in Provo. I had a ton of laundry and all the kids were still sleeping except for Jessica, so I took her with me to do the laundry. The laundry room is just a couple buildings over. As we turned the corner, we saw a HUGE hot air balloon right in the middle of the buildings. I don't know if it got stuck there, had to make an emergency landing or what, but there it was. It was soo cool!
By the time I finished starting the laundry, the balloon was gone, but there were many more balloons to watch in the sky. It was such a great morning.
Next on the agenda for the day was family pictures---not always a favorite for the kids, but always worth it! Here's the family getting READY for the picture...
and here is everyone....
Here are the people responsible for all these kids...
Here are the siblings...

Suzy told me to kiss Mark's cheek. I love the expression on Mark's face. He doesn't like kissing pictures but he's trying to be cooperative.
There were a lot of laughing pictures because we were all in a silly mood, I guess.
and even a picture of me telling Mark to stop goofing off!
So here we are after 5 kids and 12 1/2 years of marriage...
At the end of our photo shoot, Jessica climbed on our lap.

Since Jessica was on our laps already, I grabbed all the other kids for a final family shot. OK, I promised, we are officially done with pictures!!!!
That night was great. We sat outside in beautiful weather waiting for the fireworks to start. While we waited, we watched the boys play basketball...
