Mark had to work late Wednesday night, so we decided to wait until early Thursday morning (Thanksgiving) to drive up to Provo. We heard there was snow up there so we were excited! The drive was nice and clear the whole way.
And it was true....there was snow at Grandma and Grandpas!
It didn't take long before all the kids were playing in the snow.
They were in HEAVEN!!!
The snow was a little hard and icy, but that didn't stop them from having snowball fights!
The grandchildren were entertained outside while we prepared the food inside. Actually, Lu, Suzy and Lori did most of the preparation before we got there.
The feast was FABULOUS!
Sam and Truman got to break the wishbone.
They didn't have the patience to wait for it to dry out.
So most of the time either this happened....
Or this happened....
They decided to put the wishbone aside for a couple hours so it could dry out. Then they went for it again.
Truman won!
Nighttime was game night. The first game was Pit. I brought this game because it was a game that I grew up playing. Everyone humored me for a minute and played the game. They look like they are having fun, right?
But after about 10 minutes, they were ready to move on to the other game, Mad Gab.
The next couple of days were spent just hanging out with Grandpa and Grandma and cousins.
It was fun to watch the BYU football game together...except they lost! :(
Another night of games...
This time it was....
And then the "pushing game" or whatever you want to call it... I stunk at this game!

and of course, still playing in the snow until the sun went down...
Tommy and Ben spent almost three days making the worlds biggest snow ball. I think they really wanted to make a snowman, but gave up after using all their energy (and snow) to just make this.
We were planning on leaving Sunday after church, but Mark came to me Saturday night and said that a big storm was going to come in over night. He wondered if maybe we should leave that night instead. NO WAY!! First of all, I wanted to experience more snow. The kids were loving it! But mostly, I wanted to be there for church, Phil and Lu were speaking! So, that night we went to bed and the next morning woke up to this! It was AWESOME!
Here we go to the 9:00am church! I don't think I packed with this much snow in mind!
Phil and Lu gave such great talks. It was definitely worth staying over and driving home in the snow. We gave the kids a couple hours to play in the snow after church while we packed up. Here is the boys second attempt at making a snowman. The snow was definitely easier to work with this time!
The girls had fun too!

And this cute little guy stayed inside, nice and warm!
After eating every last morsel of food out of Grandpa and Grandma's kitchen, we said our goodbyes.
As we drove off, we saw the unfinished snowman on the side of the house...
It was left to remind Grandma of the weekend we had together. :)
We sure had a great time!
Our last waves were to Wes and Lori and their cute little kids.
Goodbye snow....Goodbye family....Goodbye Provo....
The drive home was not as clear as the drive to Provo. But we took it slow. After passing a few accidents, and having to go on a big detour because they closed I15 because of this accident, we made it home to Las Vegas safe and sound.
It took us two hours longer than usual, but it was worth it! Happy Thanksgiving 2010. We have so much to be thankful for. It was a perfect weekend and holiday!
