Want to Race??

If we ever move from this house, there is one thing that will be missed by all.....our hallway!!! It is not just a hallway, it is the area of our indoor recreation! It's a racetrack, a scooter path, a place where the kids race cars, balls and anything else that will roll or bounce. It has been a place where we have had The Ultimate New Years Eve sliding contest (this was with adults while all of the kids were asleep! I'll never forget that one, we have great footage of it!) The games that have been played in this hallway are endless! Tonight a new game was invented. I wish I knew what to call it, I'll have to ask Tommy tomorrow, he is usually the one that comes up with these games. Anyway, the kids all had to race to the end of the hallway by scooting on the pillows. Such a simple game, right?? But the kids thought it was great. I was doing laundry in the other room, so I just heard them playing most of the time, not really sure what the game was about, but then I came out and saw this....

The boys were so good with the little girls, they were helping them win most of the time.

But Jessica did a great job at keeping up. It was so cute to watch her little body scoot! Her face was bright red because she was working so hard.

Tommy made it easier by giving her a ride. He's such a great brother and loves taking care of Jessica.

So, if you're ever bored and need some entertainment, head on over to our hallway!!

We had such a great weekend....we celebrated two of my favorite holidays...

EASTER and RACHEL'S BIRTHDAY!!!

So, I need to document both of them and I have WAY too many pictures!

First of all, Easter.... The festivities actually started Saturday. We went up to Spring Mountain Ranch with Grandma and Grandpa Truman, Suzy and Joe, Zach and Sandy and all the cousins. It was sooooo beautiful and so fun!!! It was a perfect spring day!

We decorated Easter eggs with Grandma...

We "tried" to fly kites with Grandpa....(it was supposed to be a windy day, but there was no wind. Good for us, but bad for kites!)We had an Easter egg hunt....

We took LOTS and LOTS of pictures....

Rachel had a birthday cake and blew out the candles, but she doesn't even like cake so she didn't eat any of it. However, Jessica really enjoyed it!

Exciting Tooth News!!

Well, at least it was really exciting news in our house last night. It all started with a goodnight story....

(notice the title, Moose's Loose Tooth)

Then before I knew it, Sam was talking about his loose tooth and Tommy was telling Sam how great I am at pulling teeth. He told him that it would only take a second and that it wouldn't even hurt. It's kind of funny how Mark is the dentist, but I'm the one that pulls the teeth in our house. Actually, I don't pull teeth, I use the old dental floss trick that my parents used on me. It really works. So, my little assistant/Sam's coach, Tommy, ran and got some dental floss and we began... We started with a very loose tooth....

Then  I wrapped the dental floss around the loose tooth (I can't believe the trust he had in me! He never showed any concern or fear!) Of course, Tommy was doing a great job coaching Sam along!

O-kay, it was now in position, Sam was smiling and it was count-down time!

5-4-3-2-1...

Ughhh!!! Ouch!!

O-kay, a little scary, a little gross (sorry about the picture) but still no tears!

In fact, Sam was and is very proud of his missing tooth.

He even asked me to get the other one out today. But, it's not quite loose enough. I told him to wait a few days. I think the whole experience is probably more traumatic for me than for him. I need a few days to recover before going through this again!

St. Patricks Day

Another fun holiday to celebrate! The tradition of green hair started last year. It was Tom's idea and the kids looked forward to it again this year. We got attention everywhere we went (I wonder why?) Sam started to get embarrassed of all the attention and almost refused to get out of the car by the end of the day. Rachel performed that night (Irish dance) at a restaurant at Town Square. The Fifes came to watch. It was really fun!
