First day of school...

We've been gone the last couple weeks, enjoying the last part of summer and staying out of our house while our flooring was replaced. But we returned last night, just in time for the first day of school. I have SOOO much to do around here and a lot to post about the last couple weeks, but I couldn't let today pass without posting the annual first day of school pictures!
Here they are...

My 2nd grader....

My 4th grader...

Girl's Camp

Tuesday morning I dropped Rachel off at her leader's house for her first year of girl's camp!! She was so excited and ready to go...

She was fine saying goodbye, probably just wanted me to leave as soon as I could so I could stop embarrassing her by taking pictures!

This is the longest she has ever been away from me in 12 years!!! I think about her every day and wonder how she is doing! I know she is fine and having fun, but I just want to talk to her and hear all about it. I think I'm getting a little taste of how it's going to be sooner than I know it when she is off to college, or a mission? or getting married...Aghh, can't even think about it!! But we all miss Rach around here! Can't wait till she gets back on tomorrow!!

Updates...

It seems like the only posts that I've done lately have been about vacations! Our lives here consist of so much more than just vacations. Unfortunately, I haven't taken out my camera much this summer for the ordinary everyday things that we are doing. But, here are a few updates...
Jessica's style...

This past April, when it started to get warm, all Jessica wanted to wear was her swimsuit. Here's a picture of her a few months ago...

And here she is now...She still has not outgrown her desire to wear a swimsuit EVERY minute of EVERY day! Except now she loves to accessorize it with black tights! It's such a lovely style! :)
Another thing I love about this picture and want to remember someday is that she is only wearing one dress-up shoe! I didn't notice when I took the picture, but that cracks me up because that is the story of Jessica's life....when it's time to get her shoes on to go somewhere, often, we can only find one shoe! Sometimes we just leave the house with only one shoe on or sometimes shoeless or sometimes she just wears Megan's shoes (like today!!) She has a few pairs of shoes that I'm still looking for the mate!

Tommy's sunflower plant...
Here's another update from this past April...Remember Tommy's sunflower plant that he watered with such intensity??? (I never thought this thing would make it!) Well, it grew....Big!!

Pretty cool if you ask me!! There is an object lesson that I'm going to have to use in Primary about this someday!! :)

Truman Family Reunion 2009

This is probably our favorite vacation of the year! It seems like each year there are more and more kids (well, there are) but it also seems like it's more and more fun. Our kids almost cried as we drove away Friday morning leaving some of their cousins there waving. It's so fun for them to be surrounded by all their Truman cousins for a week. Here is a picture journal of SOME of the activities...
Breakfast in Provo Canyon...

After the activities and playing, we decided to take a family photo. All the family pictures are on Suzy's camera, but I do have these pictures of Grandma and Grandpa with the grandkids...
After shooting all the pictures, I think Grandpa and Grandma were going a little "Coo-Coo"...
HaHa...or maybe it was all the little kids that were running around behind them while Suzy was trying to take their picture...

We all sure love these two!!

Water Park...
Rachel braving the BIG slide...

Hiking the Y
Here's our family starting out...(we didn't plan ahead very well for this activity, notice flip flops and skirts on Megan and Jessica) :) Here we go...
The little girls started the trail running and by the end they were both being carried by their dads! Poor dads, they look wasted! HaHa
We took a few breaks along the way to enjoy the view. It was a beautiful morning!!

There were a few falls and a little blood...

But, we finally made it! This is the crew that made it to the top, minus Suzy who is taking the picture.
FHE and the paper sack game...

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House
This was such a neat experience! We were going to do family photos there, but it was WAY WAY too hot and sunny. Here is my only photo...
Free time and cousin time...

Bowling at the Wilk...

Now we are back to life here in Vegas. Man is it HOT!! We miss Provo and being with the Truman Fam! We can't wait till next year!!
